I'm planning to build my first PC and I've selected a few components while staying under a $3,000 budget. Here's what I've picked out so far:
- Thermalright Wonder Vision 360 UB ARGB cooler
- Lian Li Lancool 216 case
- GIGABYTE B650 AORUS Elite AX motherboard
- XFX Speedster MERC310 AMD Radeon RX 7900XTX graphics card
- AMD Ryzen 7 7800X3D processor
- Crucial Pro Kit 32GB DDR5 RAM (2x16GB, CL36, 6000MHz)
- Crucial P510 PCIe Gen5 NVMe 2TB SSD
I'm curious if this build will be future-proof and whether there are any potential bottlenecks. The total cost is around $2,763 right now, and I'm hoping to make this purchase by the end of 2026, especially if RAM prices drop. Any feedback would be appreciated!

This build is definitely high-end and solid overall! You might want to look into newer GPU options like the 5070 ti or the 9070 xt for better performance. Check out the TechPowerUp GPU database for comparisons!
Thanks for the feedback! The CPU cooler I picked is mostly for looks. I also have a cheaper AIO cooler on my list, plus a more budget-friendly one. Do you think the 9070xt is a better pick than what I currently have? The 5070ti is out of stock.
I agree, great choices in your build! Seriously consider upgrading to the 9800X3D and the 9070xt. You've done your homework, and just a heads-up, be careful with the components since they can be quite delicate. Make sure to read up on handling them safely!
