Help! My iPhone 12 Pro is Unresponsive After Updating

I recently updated my iPhone 12 Pro to iOS 26 and everything seemed fine initially. However, after a day of normal use, the screen just stopped responding to touch, while other functions like volume control and Siri are still working. I tried force restarting the phone, but I had to log in with my password afterwards, which made things tricky since Face ID and Siri weren't available at that moment. Strangely, the phone worked again after about 90 minutes, but the issue returned the next day, with my screen being unresponsive for periods ranging from 10 minutes to an hour. Right now, I haven't been able to use my phone for about 12 hours. I've restarted it multiple times, but I'm unsure what else to do. I'm trying to download iTunes to potentially reset my phone, but I'm afraid of causing more issues. Any advice?

It sounds very frustrating! It could be a bug with the new iOS version. I’d suggest waiting for the next update, as Apple usually patches these issues. Meanwhile, keep trying force restarts, and definitely back up your data in case you need to do a full restore later down the line!

First things first, check your battery health. If it’s still around 50-60%, then it’s likely not a battery issue. Sometimes glitches happen after updates; it might just need a thorough reset. Since you've already tried a force restart, using iTunes to restore your phone might be the next best step. It can sound scary, but it often resolves deeper software issues. Just make sure to back up any important data before you do it!

Totally agree! I faced a similar issue after an update. Restoring via iTunes worked wonders for me. Just be cautious, and you should be good!

It might help to try resetting all settings instead of a full restore. This can fix glitches without erasing your data. You can find this option under Settings > General > Reset > Reset All Settings. This won’t delete apps or data, just your preferences!

Before jumping into a full reset, have you tried checking for any app conflicts? Sometimes certain apps that haven’t been updated can cause issues after an iOS update. Also, ensure your screen is clean – it sounds silly, but dirt or cases can occasionally interfere!
