Transitioning from Automation to Web Development: Need Some Guidance

I've spent over 10 years working mainly in automation, specifically using JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and Node.js. Most of my experience has involved automating tasks with Selenium instead of developing websites. I'm currently looking for a job and considering a shift to web development. I'm open to junior positions, but I usually aim for senior roles. Any tips or job leads would be greatly appreciated!

With your extensive experience, you're in a good spot! You likely know the codebase from testing, so that's a great advantage. Build a portfolio website to showcase your skills. It doesn’t have to be fancy, but it shows you can create something tangible. I believe the gap between your current knowledge and what's needed isn't as massive as you think!

What exactly does a portfolio website need to include? They always look so plain to me.

Check out the developer roadmaps on roadmap.sh! They’re super helpful for figuring out which path in web development suits you best. Each roadmap has learning resources for specific topics too, which can guide your training.
