We've checked out a few options including Code42, Microsoft Purview, and Varonis, but each has had some downsides. Code42 is decent for tracking data movement, but it feels a bit clumsy when you need in-depth insights. Varonis works well for on-prem files but falls short with email functionality for its price, plus its interface is quite overwhelming. As for Microsoft Purview, I personally find it a hassle to navigate.
We're in search of a DLP solution that not only tracks data journey from point A to B but also reports on the content and context of the data. Features like auto-tagging, file change/deletion alerts, and the ability to manage USB storage access (like letting users request permission) would be huge bonuses. Put in effort to know your data and where it goes, and then look for the right tools to support your organization's needs.
