I'm new to Linux, having switched from Windows to Mint about two months ago. One thing I really miss is the convenience of enabling HDR. I own an OLED HDR-compatible monitor and TV, specifically the ASUS ROG Strix XG32UCWMG, which doesn't automatically detect HDR content and needs to be set to HDR mode by the operating system. From what I've gathered, Mint doesn't support this feature yet.
I've done some research and noticed that KDE Plasma seems to be focusing on HDR compatibility, but I've also read that most distributions can run games in HDR with some command line adjustments. Since I don't have a deep technical understanding of HDR, I'm hoping for some guidance on choosing a distribution that supports HDR or advice on getting HDR working on Linux in general, assuming the distribution itself isn't the obstacle. For context, I have an RTX 4080 graphics card, which might play a role in compatibility.

You might want to look for a distribution that comes with KDE 6.x or GNOME 48+—both are leaning towards better HDR support. Just pick whichever desktop environment you prefer!
