I'm looking for some great resources to help my 8-year-old learn Python. I've got a bit of experience with Python, PHP, and JavaScript myself, but I feel like there are better tools and platforms out there for kids. Any recommendations for child-friendly platforms that make learning Python fun and engaging? Thanks in advance!

Check out Scratch! It's designed for kids and can really help with the fundamentals of coding through fun, interactive projects. The MIT-developed Scratch platform is perfect for this age group. There’s also a Scratch Playground website that’s free to access. Your kid will love it!

Definitely go with Scratch! It’s super engaging and kids generally love it. It’s a great way to introduce them to coding without getting too complicated.

Honestly, any programmable device for kids will do, but I think Scratch is the best introductory tool. While the ideal age for learning programming is usually 11-13, younger kids can still grasp basic concepts with tools like Geomag and Sudoku to build logic skills. You might want to look into board games that teach coding basics as well, like CoderBunnyz. Just search for 'puzzle board games for programming kids' for more options!
