Why Can’t I Access YouTube on My Wi-Fi?

I've run into a strange problem where YouTube just won't load on my Wi-Fi. It works perfectly fine on my mobile data and at other Wi-Fi locations, but not at home. I've confirmed that the app isn't blocked by the router, and I've already tried uninstalling and reinstalling it, along with restarting the router. Interestingly, I can load videos on YouTube using my data first and then switch to Wi-Fi, but that's just a workaround. This issue has been happening for about two months, so it's not just a temporary site problem. If anyone has any insights on how to fix this, I would really appreciate it!

Yeah, I feel you! It’s pretty annoying when one app just won't cooperate while others do. Have you tried updating your iPhone? Sometimes that helps. Also, make sure there’s no parental control or filtering on the router that might be blocking YouTube.

Are you only having issues with YouTube? What device are you on? iPhone, TV, or computer? Also, whose router is it—yours or someone else's? Can anyone else use YouTube on your Wi-Fi? If you have a VPN active, that might cause some issues with video playback too. It might help to try accessing YouTube in your browser instead of the app, just to see if that makes a difference.

I get what you're saying! I had a similar issue before, but it turned out to be an outage. If it's only YouTube that isn't working and your mom's having the same problem, it might be router-related. It’s weird that it works on the TV though! Maybe check the router settings if you can.
