I recently bought a new computer, but I've noticed that certain apps like Notes and the Game Bar are missing. Is there a specific reason for this, and should I consider updating Windows or taking some other action?

It might depend on whether your computer came with Windows pre-installed or if you did a fresh install yourself. You could check by typing "winver" in the Start menu to see your Windows version, like Home or Pro. That helps clarify what you might be missing.

If you're using a prebuilt computer, it's common for some default apps to be missing after installation. You can usually find and reinstall Sticky Notes and the Game Bar through the Microsoft Store. Alternatively, updating Windows can sometimes restore them too.

If you're still having issues, definitely try updating Windows. Sometimes the newer builds bring back missing features and apps automatically. It's worth a shot!
