Why is my PC only recognizing 16GB of RAM instead of 32GB?

I'm having an issue with my PC where it's only detecting 16GB of RAM, even though I have two 16GB DDR5 sticks installed. I've checked and turned on A-XMP, but that hasn't helped. I recently upgraded my PC with help from professionals who installed a new motherboard, CPU, and RAM among other components, so I'm not sure why this is happening. Anyone have suggestions on how to troubleshoot this?

Have you checked to see if the RAM sticks are actually what the company said they installed? Sometimes it might be worth it to take them out and look at the labels to confirm they're indeed 16GB sticks. It's a bit scary to do, especially with RAM prices, but it can help clear things up.

If you boot into BIOS, does it also say 16GB? If it detects 32GB there, then it's a software issue. However, if it confirms just 16GB, then you might need to investigate if the right sticks were installed.

First off, how are you determining it's detecting only 16GB? You might want to check the BIOS to see if it recognizes 2x16GB there. If it shows just 2x8GB in the BIOS, then it's possible they may have only installed the lower capacity sticks. Verify the labels on the RAM sticks if you can too.
