I'm trying to access a website that runs on Microsoft Silverlight, but I'm on a MacBook Air with the M4 chip. I've previously installed it on a Windows 10 setup on a 2013 Mac, and that worked fine. However, it seems almost impossible to get it working on macOS. Is there any way to make this happen, maybe through a simulator or virtualization? I really need this site to work for my university logistics this year. Thanks for any help!

If this is really important to you, consider just grabbing a Windows 10 laptop. You could get a decent one for under $1000. Sure, upgrading the site would be ideal, but sometimes you just have to invest in the right tools to get the job done.
Keep in mind that Silverlight has been dead since 2021, and there hasn't been anything for ARM devices, including the M4. Unless someone makes a dedicated emulator, getting this up and running is a long shot.
Honestly, it's surprising that any site still relies on Silverlight. It was barely popular when it was actively supported. Do you mind sharing what site is so outdated?
Silverlight is pretty much out of the picture now. It might be worth exploring options like running a virtualized Windows 10 environment. The M4 chip can handle ARM Windows, or you could look into software that supports x86 emulation, like VMWare Workstation.
Let's be real, it's just not going to happen. Silverlight's time has come and gone.
