Best External Storage for Transferring Photos from iPhone

I've got over 150 GB of pictures on my iPhone and I'm looking to transfer them to an external storage device. I've come across options like the Samsung T7 Shield, SanDisk Extreme Pro Portable SSD, and some people are just using thumb drives. What's the best option for a large photo transfer? Should I connect it directly to my iPhone, or is it better to do this through my PC?

I went with a NAS device for this purpose. The UGREEN models can automatically back up your phone when you install their mobile app. Plus, they help organize your photos into folders by year and month, which is super handy.

Any of those options could work, but reliability is key when it comes to storage. Here are some things to think about: is the drive genuine, what's the risk if it fails, and are you prepared for any disasters like a flood or fire? Also, what happens if you misplace or break it? That's why the '321 strategy' is popular—have three copies on at least two different types of storage, and keep one copy off-site. If your photos are important to you, consider also using a reputable cloud service like Google Drive or iCloud for extra security.
