What’s a good temporary network setup for my store while I wait on repairs?

I'm currently dealing with a situation at my small store where the external network cable is damaged, resulting in a complete loss of internet. I need a temporary solution to keep everything running until we can replace the cabling.

Here's what I've got:
- There are 4 Windows PCs primarily used for sales, with one acting as a server for our sales system.
- The PCs need to communicate with each other locally and also require internet access for some functions.

To solve this, I turned on a mobile hotspot on my phone and connected all PCs to it, but I'm facing an issue: while they all have internet access, the computers can't communicate with each other. I suspect this might be due to some client isolation features associated with the hotspot, but I haven't found a way to disable that.

I've tried:
- Connecting one PC to the hotspot and sharing its connection through Ethernet.
- Checking the Windows network sharing settings.
- Making sure all PCs are on the same subnet.

I have two main questions:
1. Is there a way to disable client isolation on a phone hotspot?
2. What would be the best temporary solution for getting these 4 PCs on the same local network while maintaining internet access? I appreciate any help!

If possible, consider running a temporary cable, even if it's just through a window or door. It's not ideal, but it could solve your problem until the repairs are done.

Make sure your PCs aren’t on a 'public' network setting, switch them to 'private'. If you need, check how to disable client isolation for your phone's hotspot; some models have options for that. In the meantime, a dedicated mobile router might be a better long-term solution.

You might want to grab a 5-port switch; just connect one port to the internet and the other four to your PCs. Technically, a router is the ideal fix, but this should work fine for your temporary setup.

You might want to check with local phone providers for an LTE or 5G router option. They usually range from $30-$40 monthly. Just ensure you get one that has an Ethernet port so you can easily connect your PCs!

I actually use a GL.Net travel router for situations like this. It can work as a wireless AP and router, connecting to your phone’s internet via tethering or USB. It’s quick to set up and should serve your needs well.
