I recently transferred my data from my old iPhone 8 Plus to my new iPhone 15 Pro Max and I'm having trouble with the Microsoft Authenticator app. Every time I try to get a code for my Outlook email used for school, it keeps prompting for a code while I'm already in the app, which makes it impossible to use the code provided. I've already tried uninstalling and reinstalling the app, and I've made sure my time zone settings are correct. Also, the app has a lock that I can open. I'm not looking for password help, just a way to reset the authenticator or tie it to my new device. What options do I have to resolve this?

If you still have access to your old phone, try booting it up to authenticate the new Authenticator app with the old one. As long as you haven’t transferred the eSIM, it should still work over WiFi. Alternatively, if this is for a work or school account, your IT department can provide you with a one-time passcode to resolve the situation.
Since you wiped the old phone, you'll need to use the recovery code that was shown during the 2FA setup to regain access to your account online. After that, you can disable 2FA while you set it up on your new device. When reinstalling the app, make sure you select 'recover accounts.' You can also authenticate by signing in with your password. If this is a school account, definitely contact the IT department for assistance.
