What’s everyone using for branch routers these days?

I'm in the process of replacing our old Cisco 4321 routers, and I'd love to hear what models you all are using for branch routers currently. Our typical setup includes about 50 devices, and while I'm not too concerned about wired capacity, we need a solid 5G backup. I'm considering the Meraki MX67W, but it seems to only support LTE. Can anyone share their experiences with this or any other recommendations? We're not doing anything too elaborate—just switched ethernet from our provider, mainly using the router for traffic segregation. I assume standard VPN support for the wireless connection is available, but it would be great to get some insights from those who have made recent upgrades to their branch routers.

Just a heads up on the Meraki devices—if 5G is a priority for you, consider getting a dedicated 5G modem and hook it up to WAN2 for failover. Also, if you want integrated wireless, you might want to check out Cradlepoint or Peplink; they’re really well-known for that kind of setup.

Thanks for the tip! We actually have a Peplink in the lab right now for testing, but I wanted to get more real-world feedback before making a decision.

For a good budget option, you might look at the Linksys WRT54G. It’s a classic choice! But yeah, if you're looking for something more modern, check out the Meraki MX67C instead of the W model if you plan on using separate access points; it works way better for that scenario.

That's a solid pick! I mean, it’s not flashy, but it gets the job done without breaking the bank.

In my experience, a lot of clients end up with whatever's on sale at the local electronics store!
