Help! I’ve Been Targeted by a Blackmailer and Don’t Know What to Do

I recently got into a risky situation while trying to sext with strangers online. We were video chatting on Discord and I shared my private Instagram profile. Even though we weren't friends on Instagram, they somehow managed to record our chat. Now, they're threatening to expose me by sending screenshots to people I used to know over Facebook, and I have no idea how they found them. I deleted my Facebook and set my Instagram to private, so I'm wondering if there's anything more I can do to prevent them from reaching out again. How do they even have access to those accounts? Any advice on securing my social media and handling this situation would really help.

First off, stop engaging with them. Once they realize they can't manipulate you anymore, they might back off. These kinds of blackmail attempts usually rely on fear and intimidation, and they often don't have much to back up their threats. Just make sure you don't give them any more information that could compromise you further.

It was peak excitement at its moment, lesson learned the hard way.

This is a typical blackmail scam, so don't fall for it. Remember, negotiating or giving in just fuels their fire. Prioritize your safety and report any harassment to the platform—it’s crucial not to let them threaten you into silence, even if they claim they have dirt on you.

I know it’s a scary situation, but if they only have text and non-identifying pictures, you're probably safe. Just consider it a lesson learned and don’t let them get under your skin! Focus on securing your accounts and moving forward.
