How to Protect My Personal Photos Before Company Wipes My Phone?

Hi everyone! I'm finishing up my time at my job and I want to make sure my personal photos are safe. I use my personal Android phone for company stuff, mainly to access Outlook. When I set it up, I had to agree to some terms that gave the company access to my device. This week is my last at the company, and I know they typically wipe devices before anyone leaves. I've already removed my Outlook and OneDrive accounts, but I'm worried they still might be able to wipe my phone next week. What can I do to protect my family photos that are stored there?

Ultimately, if you signed up your device as a personal one but work has access, they should only manage the apps you used for work, not your entire device. Just make sure to follow up and confirm with them. Being proactive is key!

Proactivity is definitely the best approach here!

Great point! Knowing the terms can save you a lot of trouble.

If your company has a mobile device management system in place, they usually can remotely wipe only the work-related data, not your personal stuff. So, as long as you removed your accounts properly, your personal photos should be safe, but I’d still recommend confirming with your IT just in case!

Good tip about company policies. Better safe than sorry!

Right? It's always good to check their setup before panicking.

First off, definitely back up your photos! Don’t risk losing them—use cloud storage or save them to a computer. If your phone dies unexpectedly, you'll be in a tough spot without your backups. Oh, and have a chat with your IT department; they often appreciate open communication and might help resolve some of your concerns!

Totally agree! It's always better to have a backup, just in case.

Yeah, backup is crucial! A tech mishap could wipe everything.

Check if you have the Company Portal app installed. If it's set up properly, it can typically only wipe corporate data, leaving your personal data untouched. Still, I'd back everything up, as company policy can vary a lot!

Exactly! Always good to verify what apps have access.

Company protocols can be tricky. Always be prepared.

Make sure to delete any work profiles and permissions that you might have granted the company. Sometimes these management tools allow them to wipe business data, but they shouldn’t touch personal files if done correctly. Either way, it's smart to have your photos backed up just to be safe!

Yeah, checking your settings is a good idea. Don't leave anything to chance!

Always a good move to delete those profiles!
