Is Upgrading My GPU Worth It If Performance Gains Are Just 10%?

I'm trying to figure out whether it's worth upgrading my GPU even if the new options only offer about a 10% performance improvement. Currently, I have a 3070, and the best graphic cards within my budget are the 9060 XT 16GB and the 5060 Ti 16GB. Given the trend that GPUs are inflating in price, I've noticed that newer models don't show significant improvements in rasterization compared to what I paid for my 3070 years ago. Should I consider other features instead of just raw performance? For instance, for someone who owns an RX 6700 XT and is looking at the same upgrade options, would the small performance gain justify the expense?

It's all about how much value you place on the upgrade. If you can comfortably afford it and it makes a difference in your gaming experience, go for it! Just make sure it truly adds to your enjoyment. But if your current performance works for you, there's no rush.

Exactly! Upgrading should enhance your gaming lifestyle, not just be a numbers game.

If you're happy with your 3070 and it gets the job done, I'd say hold off on upgrading for just a minor bump in performance. There's no need to waste money on small gains, especially when the market is so inflated right now. Optimize your settings and wait for a bigger upgrade down the line.

Totally agree! Upgrade only when you feel your current setup can’t meet your gaming needs anymore.

Honestly, unless you're really struggling with your current performance, it might be worth hanging onto your 3070 a little longer. If the new card doesn't significantly improve your experience, it's best to wait. Maybe check some benchmarks to see what to expect if you do decide to upgrade.
