What graphics card should I pair with my budget-friendly 9800X3D?

I scored an amazing deal on a 9800X3D CPU for €318 (usually €550-600), and now I'm trying to figure out which GPU to buy for my gaming setup. My goal is to build a decent gaming PC for around €1500. The most demanding game I play is Escape From Tarkov, which is known for being CPU-bound, but I also enjoy new titles like Cyberpunk 2077 and Red Dead Redemption 2. Ideally, I want to achieve 1440p at approximately 144fps, using DLSS if necessary. Everyone insists that to get the most out of the 9800X3D, I should pair it with at least a 5070 or 5080 GPU. However, I'm concerned about spending €1200-1500 on a GPU I might not fully utilize. Would a €400 5060 Ti be sufficient for my needs? Plus, if I need more GPU power in a few years, could I just upgrade to an RTX 6060 or 7060 later, while keeping the 9800X3D? What do you all think?

Honestly, I wouldn't go lower than the 5070 if you want to hit 144fps at 1440p. The 5060 Ti won't cut it unless you're okay with sacrificing some clarity with DLSS Performance. Cyberpunk 2077 especially benefits from a more powerful card, so go for something like the 9070 or 5070 at a minimum!

If you're considering the PNY 5070 OC, it's around $600 and offers great value. You can overclock it with MSI Afterburner to match the performance of a stock 5070 Ti. Just check benchmarks for the specific games you want to ensure it meets your expectations.

If you're looking for value, definitely consider the 9070XT. It's particularly good right now. If you find it's more GPU power than you need, you can always downgrade or find a cheaper option after that. Your CPU should still hold up well for whatever GPU you choose!

I'd say the AMD 9070XT is a solid choice. I've paired mine with the 9800X3D and it's been great for all the games I play. Definitely check it out!

You really can't go wrong if you stick with the best GPU you can afford. As for the 5070, I'd say it's a solid choice if you want to guarantee you're future-proofed for a couple of years. Just keep in mind that you can always upgrade the GPU later!
