I'm running into some frustrating issues on my current setup with Linux Mint 21.3 Cinnamon, using a 6.8.0-94-generic kernel and the X11 display driver. My hardware features an Intel i915 and an NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 with driver version 590.48.01. Lately, I've been experiencing random freezes, especially with chromium-based applications like Brave, Chrome, and Discord, which force me to use the "raise the elephant" commands. I've already attempted a few fixes, such as switching to an older NVIDIA driver, toggling performance modes, and adjusting the minimum NVIDIA clock value in hopes of alleviating some voltage issues related to frequency jumps. However, I'm thinking it might be time to switch to a more stable Linux distro that's known to handle hybrid Intel/NVIDIA graphics well.
Additionally, I have a few minor concerns:
- The Dell logo shows up again after the Linux Mint logo during boot, which seems odd.
- I log out when trying to start Steam with the NVIDIA GPU from the app menu, unless I do it through the terminal.
- Occasionally, I experience graphics stutter when scrolling through web pages.
I'm open to trying various distributions but would prefer one that's popular and has solid community support.

You might want to check out the wiki for distro selection! It’s a great resource for finding distros that are known to work well for different setups. Remember to back up your data regularly and maybe experiment with a few options in a VM before committing!
