How to Fix My IPv4 Geolocation Issue with AT&T Fiber?

I recently moved and signed up for AT&T Fiber internet. I'm facing issues accessing some websites like OfferUp and ColdStone Creamery because they think I'm located outside the USA, which isn't true. In my modem settings, I see my IPv4 address (192.168...) but I've already tried commands like 'ipconfig /release /renew' to change things, and I've contacted AT&T support multiple times. They even sent a technician who replaced my modem but the IPv4 address hasn't changed and I'm still blocked from certain sites. It's not just my PC; my cellphone has the same problems unless I disconnect from Wi-Fi and use mobile data. How can I resolve this?

Have you tried using a different DNS server? Sometimes, ISPs like AT&T might have their own issues with location detection. For instance, setting your DNS to 1.1.1.1 and 8.8.8.8 might help fix some of the blocking issues. Also, clearing the cache, cookies, or even trying incognito mode on your browsers can help with those websites that are being picky.

It seems like all your devices are affected, which points to an issue with the network rather than individual devices. Double-check your IP on a site like whatismyip.com to confirm it’s showing your correct location. If you're still seeing blocks, keep pressing AT&T support until they figure out the issue, since it sounds like you need a new public IP block to solve this.

It sounds like the issue here is related to geolocation and not something you can change on your end. The websites you're trying to access are using your external IP address to determine your location, which may not reflect accurately if AT&T has assigned you a problematic IP. They might need to update their records or give you a different public IP address. You should definitely mention this to AT&T support and ask them to rotate your IP to get one that's correctly identified as being in the US.

Just a heads up, that 192.168... address you see is your internal IP, so it doesn't affect your internet access directly. To troubleshoot, have you had someone else try connecting to your network? If they experience the same issues, it’s likely an AT&T problem. Also, check to see if you're accidentally using a VPN or if any settings on your router are redirecting traffic. You may need AT&T to assign you a new IP address because some sites could have blacklisted your current one for geolocation reasons.
