Is It Worth Adding AdSense to a New Niche Tool?

I've just launched a small web tool that helps gamers configure settings for a specific football game, and I'm now considering how to monetize it. Given that I'm currently seeing around 900 users in just two weeks—mostly thanks to Reddit and YouTube—I'm not sure if introducing AdSense or any ads at this stage would be a smart move. I've heard that many small sites only make a fraction of a dollar per 1,000 views, which leads me to question if it's worth it right now. I'd love to hear from anyone who has experience with monetizing small projects. Specifically, I'm curious:
1. How much traffic did you need before ads became profitable for you?
2. Is it better to hold off on ads to maintain a good user experience?
3. If ads aren't the way to go now, what strategies would you recommend for increasing traffic? I'm considering focusing on SEO, continuing my YouTube and Reddit efforts, and perhaps making my tool more shareable. Any insights from those who've been through this would be much appreciated!

In your situation, ads might actually detract more than they contribute. I've dabbled with them on niche tools that hovered around 1,000 users, and it just felt like it cheapened the experience without boosting revenue significantly. Instead, I'd recommend focusing on building shareable features and sticky outputs. If you plan to introduce data or personalization later, think about what you could modify for the users instead of cluttering it with ads.

Could you expand on that? I'm still figuring things out.
