I've recently taken on the webmaster role for a small online business that registers its domain through AWS. They previously used Amazon SES until they had issues with a hacked email and decided to move away from it. As it stands, the only connection the business has with AWS now is for domain registration.
Unfortunately, it seems like the previous account owner missed several warnings from AWS regarding security issues, like an insecure IAM user or API key. Since the account was no longer in use for SES, there wasn't much attention given to it. Now, the AWS account is suspended, the domain is locked, and our website and email services are completely down. This is really hurting our business revenue. To make matters worse, I can't even open support tickets that relate to previous tickets that outlined remediation steps before the suspension.
I've read about similar experiences where people get stuck in a chain of custody issue after an account suspension, unable to communicate effectively with Amazon due to the lockout. Has anyone gone through this before and can offer some advice? I've submitted multiple support tickets, but it's been a frustrating cycle of automated responses for the last six days without any real solutions.

It sounds like a frustrating situation. The first thing to check is whether anyone at your business can still access the original email tied to the AWS account. That will determine your recovery options. If you can get into that email, you might be able to reset the account or at least communicate with AWS support directly from there. Good luck!
I’m really sorry to hear about your experience. If you send me your case IDs, I can look into this for you and see if there's anything I can do to help out. Hang in there!
Just a heads up, getting locked out of an AWS account is definitely rough. I'd recommend documenting everything you've done so far when you reach out for support. It might help escalate your case. Keep pushing through the support channels!
