I'm looking for recommendations on ticketing software for a small IT department with just 3 or 4 people. I've heard there are some good free options for teams of under five, but I can't remember the names. What would you suggest?

Have you tried Freshservice? It's a part of Freshdesk and works really well for IT-focused teams. Plus, there’s a free tier, which is perfect for smaller setups.

I’ve been using Freshservice recently and I’m pretty satisfied with it.

Yeah, Freshservice is solid! I used it back when it was new and it was great then.

GLPI is another great option, especially if you want something open-source. It offers ticketing as well as asset management features, which can be really useful for a small team.

I've been using GLPI for a while, and I'm happy with it! It really helps keep track of everything.

BackToBasics -

Exactly! Simplicity is key for small teams, and GLPI checks that box.

I recommend checking out Spiceworks. It's free up to five users with their cloud version, and if you go on-prem, you can still access plenty of their features without paying a dime, although I'm not sure if they still support on-prem setups. It used to be the go-to for small teams!

Thanks for the tip! I'll definitely look into it.

Just a heads up, I heard they've been shifting focus to cloud, so the on-prem options might not be as good as they used to be.

Check out osTicket! We used to use Spiceworks on-prem for ages but switched to osTicket and it's been fantastic. They're about to roll out a new version that’s modern and totally free.

I've heard good things about osTicket. I vote for it too; setting it up is straightforward.

Switcheroo -

I also made the switch to osTicket after using Spiceworks for years—it has way more features!

I recently switched to Jitbit, and I love it. It's simple but robust enough for our three-person team.

Jitbit works great for small teams; I've had a good experience with it too.

Is it easy to set up? I'm looking for something not too complicated.
