Is It Better to Invest in a Professional E-Commerce Site or Use a Cheap AI Solution?

I'm building an e-commerce website for a friend's local pastry business that wants to deliver nationwide. I'm torn between spending a good amount of money on a professional web developer for a site that isn't too complex or opting for a budget-friendly solution like a subscription service that claims it can handle everything for an e-commerce platform. Is it really that affordable and easy? Just to clarify, I'm not a developer; my background is in cyber security but I don't have any programming skills.

Using Shopify is a great option—it allows you to set up an online store really quickly and is very user-friendly, even for non-developers. You can have your store running in just a day if you check out a couple of tutorials. Seriously, it takes the stress out of the process!

I would suggest looking into existing e-commerce platforms instead of starting from scratch. They come with built-in features for transactions, security, and support. It might seem cheaper upfront to use a DIY service, but the costs can add up in terms of time and potential issues down the line. You need a solution that’s reliable and tested for security, especially when handling payments.

But doesn’t a service like Stripe handle payment processing? Is it really necessary to have a full custom setup?
