I'm burning MP3 files onto CDs using an ASUS external slim DVD-RW drive connected to a Windows 11 HP laptop. A dedicated disc-burning program can make the track order clearer because it shows the exact burn list. Arrange the files there manually, make sure randomization is off, and then finalize the disc so ordinary players can read it consistently.
First check that shuffle or random playback is disabled, although the fact that multiple players use the same order suggests the order was probably recorded that way during burning.
If the disc is meant to play as a normal album, burn it as an audio CD instead of an MP3 data disc. Use WAV files from the original source if possible, arrange the tracks in the burn list, and verify the order before starting the burn.
