I'm looking for a lightweight Linux distribution since my setup has an Intel i3-1005G1 CPU and 4GB of RAM with a 256GB SSD. Ideally, I want something user-friendly that will just work well without overloading the system. What would you recommend?

Linux Mint is my go-to choice for a solid XFCE experience. It's great for older hardware and should serve you well with your setup.
Consider what you really need. If a GUI isn't necessary, something like Alpine could work. But since you're looking for a desktop experience, you'll probably want a distro with a GUI. That said, any XFCE or LX-based environments like Lubuntu or Xubuntu should do the trick.
For a smooth experience, I'd go with a distro that comes with XFCE as its desktop environment. It's lightweight but familiar enough, making it perfect for systems with lower specs. Personally, I even run XFCE on my Arch setup with more powerful hardware, and I love it!
Yeah, definitely need a GUI. Thanks for the recommendations!
