Need Help with GPU Upgrade – No Display Issues

I'm trying to upgrade my GPU to an RTX 5070, but I'm running into some problems. Initially, I swapped the cards without uninstalling the old drivers, and while the new card didn't work, my old GPU (the 4060) did. I then uninstalled the 4060 driver via Device Manager, disabled my WiFi to switch to Windows graphics, reinstalled the new card, and still got no display. I tried re-connecting the 4060, but I'm still stuck without a signal. My motherboard doesn't have an HDMI input, so I'm at a loss. What are my options?

You might want to try clearing the CMOS and reseating the new GPU. It's often effective for these kinds of issues, especially after a driver conflict like yours. Just make sure your PC is unplugged before doing this!

I did that and eventually got the display back with the 4060! Do you think it's risky to clear the CMOS again before attempting to install the 5070?

I heard that clearing the CMOS worked for someone else in a similar situation. Just remember, they had access to HDMI on their motherboard, which I don't, so I'm not sure how that plays into it.
