Is Microsoft 365 Outlook experiencing an Exchange Online outage?

Is anyone else having trouble sending or syncing email in Microsoft 365 Outlook? Web Outlook and the newer Outlook app are failing to load or sync for some users, while Classic Outlook appears to be working for others. Internal messages and external mail are also delayed or not being delivered. Is this a confirmed service incident, and are there any known workarounds?

The service-status reports initially showed everything as healthy, but user reports and the outage spike increased quickly. Mail may still trickle through, although delivery is delayed. Classic Outlook seems to be the most reliable option at the moment, if it connects for you.

This is affecting both internal and external messages, not just sending from one particular account. Search is also failing in the desktop and web clients, so switching clients may only provide a temporary workaround while Microsoft investigates.

Yes, this appears to be a broader Exchange Online incident rather than an isolated mailbox problem. Users are reporting failed sends, missing internal mail, search problems, web access errors, and very slow delivery. Microsoft has opened incident EX1464935 and is investigating.

That matches what we're seeing. The newer Outlook client and web version aren't syncing, but Classic Outlook is still working for some users.
