I recently built a new PC, but the Windows 11 installer doesn't detect my Samsung SSD at all. I tried removing the existing partitions and installing both SSD and motherboard drivers, but nothing changed. What should I check to get the drive recognized?

First check whether the SSD appears in your motherboard’s BIOS/UEFI. If it isn’t listed there, verify the installation, slot compatibility, power or data connections, and consider updating the BIOS. If the BIOS sees it but the Windows installer doesn’t, check the storage-controller settings—such as Intel VMD or RAID—and load the appropriate storage driver during setup. Once Windows is running, a drive that appears in Disk Management may only need to be initialized and assigned a drive letter.
Older motherboards can sometimes need a BIOS update to support newer NVMe drives, although compatibility depends on the specific board, M.2 slot, and SSD. Checking the motherboard’s CPU and storage compatibility list is a good first step.
