I accidentally spilled about half an espresso shot onto my Acer Aspire 3's keyboard while studying. I quickly placed the laptop in a tent position and left it that way for about 24 hours. It turns on and appears to work normally, but several keys feel sticky and the laptop smells strongly of coffee. I don't add sugar or creamer, but I'm worried that liquid may have reached the internal components. I can't easily find high-concentration isopropyl alcohol, although local laptop technicians are available. What should I do next?

Turn it off again, unplug the charger, and avoid using it until it has been inspected or cleaned. If you know how to open the bottom safely, disconnect the battery; otherwise, let a technician handle it. Coffee residue can remain trapped between the keyboard layers and may cause corrosion or intermittent problems even if the laptop works right now. A technician can open it, check for residue or liquid damage, and clean the affected areas with high-purity isopropyl alcohol. Don’t spray liquid or alcohol directly onto the keyboard, and don’t use the laptop while cleaning it.
The fact that it powered on is encouraging, but it doesn’t guarantee there’s no damage. Back up important files while it still works, then shut it down. Sticky keys usually mean residue remains inside the keyboard, and the keyboard may eventually need cleaning or replacement even if the motherboard is fine.
Isopropyl alcohol is the usual choice because it evaporates quickly, but if you can’t get the right kind locally, having a repair shop inspect it is safer than substituting a household cleaner or alcohol wipe.
