Does anyone know where to obtain the Exchange Server 2016 update package exchange2016-kb5121576-x64-en.exe? It appears to be available only through the Extended Security Update program, and I'm trying to find a legitimate way to acquire it.

If you obtain the package through a legitimate channel, verify its digital signature and compare its cryptographic hash with the value published by Microsoft before running it. Avoid disabling antivirus or trusting an anonymous download link just because the filename looks correct.

Exactly. Hash verification helps confirm the file is authentic, but getting the installer from an authorized source is still the best protection.

Be very cautious about downloading that installer from someone unofficial. A malicious or modified server update could cause serious damage. The safer options are to enroll in the Extended Security Update program or upgrade to a currently supported Exchange version.

The ESU cost may not be the main issue; the enrollment and purchasing process can be difficult to figure out. Microsoft support or an authorized licensing partner should be able to explain how to obtain it.
