Why does my Windows 11 laptop start draining its battery overnight?

For the past few days, my HP laptop stays at roughly the same battery level for several hours after I close it, then suddenly begins losing power around 4 a.m. Windows reports that the Default Lock Screen is using most of the battery. Wake timers are disabled, and although I suspected an overnight Windows update, the drain happened again without any update being installed. Are there system logs or power reports I can check to find out what is waking the laptop or consuming power?

Check whether the laptop is actually entering sleep or switching to hibernation. Try changing the sleep and hibernation settings temporarily and compare the results. If it is connected to a wired network, disconnecting that can also help rule out network activity waking the system.

It is not connected to Ethernet, and I have not intentionally changed the sleep or hibernation settings. If Windows changed them, what settings or logs should I check?
