I currently have 32GB of DDR5 paired with a Radeon 9070 XT and Ryzen 7 9800X3D. This system is mainly for gaming and filing my taxes, so I'm wondering whether 32GB will remain sufficient or if upgrading to 64GB would be worthwhile. I'm playing Fallout 4 with a decent number of mods now, and my longer-term goal is to play Fable and GTA 6 at high settings in 4K with a locked 60 FPS. I know the requirements for those games aren't available yet, but I wanted to explain what I'm aiming for.

There’s no strong reason to move to 64GB right now unless you’re regularly using nearly all 32GB, running heavily modded games, or doing things like video editing, virtual machines, or other memory-heavy work. If your usage stays well below the limit, extra RAM won’t improve gaming performance.
64GB is reasonable if the price is comfortable and you want extra headroom, but it’s more of a convenience and future-proofing purchase than a necessary upgrade. With memory prices being high, staying at 32GB and upgrading when prices fall or your usage demands it is probably the better value.
Your hardware is powerful enough that system RAM probably won’t be the limiting factor for 4K gaming. Future games could always surprise us, but a console-focused title is unlikely to require more than 32GB of system memory. You can always upgrade later if benchmarks or actual usage show that you need it.
32GB should be plenty for your current use. Fallout 4 with mods generally won’t need more, and most games still run comfortably with 32GB. Check your memory usage while gaming before spending money on an upgrade.
