I'm looking for a Linux operating system that works well for gaming and schoolwork. I'd especially like to play GTA Online, along with other games. What distro or setup would you recommend, and would dual-booting with Windows be a better option?

If GTA Online is essential, dual-booting Windows and Linux is probably the least frustrating option. Use Linux for school and compatible games, then switch to Windows for games that require unsupported anti-cheat systems. Also, use legitimate copies of games since pirated versions can be unsafe and aren’t something Linux support can reliably address.
Most Linux distributions can handle schoolwork and many games well. Gaming-focused options such as Bazzite or PikaOS may be convenient because they include useful drivers and tools, but the distro alone won’t solve compatibility problems with every online game.
GTA Online multiplayer is the main issue. Its anti-cheat system does not currently provide reliable Linux support, and workarounds may violate the game’s terms of service or lead to an account ban. GTA V’s single-player mode may work, but don’t count on official online multiplayer.
