I'm building a PC for my brother and am trying to decide whether to buy the parts now or wait for Black Friday. Do major components usually get meaningfully cheaper, or is it safer to purchase soon in case prices continue rising?

If you find a genuinely good bundle from a major retailer, it may be worth taking it instead of gambling on a future sale. Retailer bundles can sometimes offer better value than individual Black Friday discounts.
Buying now makes more sense if the computer is needed soon or if current prices are already acceptable. If you can wait, track prices for a few weeks and set a target price rather than assuming every Black Friday offer will be worthwhile.
It’s difficult to predict this market. RAM, storage, and graphics cards have been unusually volatile, so waiting could save money, but prices could just as easily rise before then.
Black Friday deals are more likely on motherboards, entry-level CPUs, and cases. The main expensive parts—especially GPUs—often have limited discounts, particularly when demand is high.
That’s probably the safest approach. Some advertised deals are barely discounts, while the truly good offers tend to disappear quickly.
