I recently bought a system with an RTX 5060, Ryzen 5 7500F, and a B840M motherboard. I use it for AAA gaming as well as coding, and the complete setup cost me around $1,190. Was this a poor choice, or is it a sensible build for my budget and needs?

It sounds like a solid system overall. The main question is how much you paid specifically for the RTX 5060—depending on local pricing, an AMD graphics card might have offered better gaming performance. Aside from that, the Ryzen 5 7500F is a capable pairing.
