I bought a used B650 Aorus Elite AX motherboard that looks great overall, but there's a small amount of dried thermal paste on the PCB and in the A1 RAM slot. I probably won't use that slot, but I'd still like to clean it properly. Please explain the process in very simple steps.

You may not actually need to remove it if the paste isn’t interfering with anything. Dried thermal paste usually won’t affect the board by itself, so cleaning is mainly worthwhile if it’s inside the slot or could prevent proper RAM contact.
A cotton swab and isopropyl alcohol should be enough for a small amount. Be patient and use light pressure, especially around the RAM slot contacts. Afterward, leave the motherboard somewhere clean and ventilated until all the alcohol has evaporated.
Turn the motherboard completely off and disconnect everything first. Use 90%+ isopropyl alcohol, ideally 99%, with a new soft toothbrush or cotton swab. Lightly dampen the brush or swab—don’t aggressively scrub or flood the slot—then gently loosen the paste and wipe it away. Use a lint-free cloth for the PCB, and keep replacing dirty swabs or cleaning the brush. Let the board dry completely before installing or powering it on.
I’d still like to clean it since there’s paste in the slot, but I’ll be careful not to damage the contacts.
