I'm trying to switch from Windows to CachyOS, but whenever I boot the installer I only get a black screen. I'm still new to Linux and couldn't find a solution in the documentation. I suspect my NVIDIA graphics card might be involved, but I'm not sure what to try next. Any troubleshooting advice would be appreciated.

Are you using an NVIDIA GPU? CachyOS may need different boot options or its proprietary graphics drivers selected during installation. If the live environment offers a choice, try the NVIDIA-specific option. You can also test a safe graphics mode or add the `nomodeset` boot parameter temporarily to see whether the installer loads.
If the screen goes black immediately after booting, verify the ISO download and recreate the USB installer first. Then try a different USB port—preferably a USB 2.0 port—and disable Secure Boot temporarily in the firmware settings. If you can share your GPU model and whether the black screen appears before or after the CachyOS menu, it should be easier to narrow down.
