I'm using Logitech Pro X headphones, and while they're not the highest quality out there, I'm pretty satisfied with their sound. I've heard that dedicated sound cards can provide a significant improvement over built-in audio chips. However, my Logitech headphones already have an integrated sound card that connects via USB, with the 3.5mm jack plugged into that.
So, do you think it's worth investing in something like the Sound Blaster Audigy Fx V2? How does the sound quality of my Logitech Pro X compare to an ALC 897 onboard sound versus the Sound Blaster?

If you're considering a sound card, I’d suggest looking at external audio interfaces instead. They usually deliver better audio quality because they minimize electrical interference that can come from other components in your PC.

For most users, onboard audio is perfectly fine. I design and test speakers, and I haven't had any issues using onboard sound, especially when hooking up to an external amplifier. Unless you're very picky, you might not even notice the difference with a dedicated sound card.
