Why isn’t my GPU showing usage in Unreal Engine 5 games?

Hey everyone! I'm having a bit of a strange issue with Unreal Engine 5 games. Even though my PC runs them smoothly on high settings, Task Manager shows that my GPU usage is almost non-existent—like, it hovers around 0%, occasionally hitting 0.1% while my CPU usage is between 40% to 70%. Here's what I'm working with:

- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600 6-Core Processor
- GPU: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 4060 Ti

I've tested games like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, Wuthering Waves, and Infinity Nikki. Interestingly, my GPU works perfectly fine for other non-UE5 games. Also, I checked Device Manager and my RTX 4060 Ti is the only GPU listed, plus there's no option for an integrated GPU in the Nvidia Control Panel.

**Edit:** I figured it out! The games **do** utilize my GPU; Task Manager just doesn't reflect it for UE5 games. The Nvidia overlay (Alt+R) shows the correct usage level.

You might want to try installing the studio driver for your GPU. Sometimes that helps improve compatibility and performance with certain games. Just a thought!

You definitely have the right GPU since it's the only one listed. This might be a case of Task Manager not providing accurate info. When you alt-tab out, it won't show the right usage because the game is not in focus. Try using the Nvidia overlay (Alt+R) to see the real-time usage while you're playing!

Oh wow, you're absolutely right! The game **does** use my GPU, task manager just doesn't show it. According to the Alt+R overlay, the GPU is at 70%. It's so weird that only UE5 games do this though... But thanks a ton!
