Need a Good Temperature Sensor for My Electronics Cabinets

Hi all, I'm on the hunt for a temperature sensor that could work for my setup. I have some large cabinets housing electronics, including a network switch, and I'd like to place a temperature sensor inside one of them. It's important that the sensor supports SNMP since I want to integrate it with my network monitoring software. Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated! Thanks!

You might want to consider building your own solution with an Arduino or Raspberry Pi. They're super flexible and can be set up to meet your specific needs, including SNMP support.

Check out the guidelines from the CDC for monitoring vaccine temperatures. They often recommend reliable sensors that could also work for your application, plus they usually come with alert features.

I recommend checking out Room Alert from AVTECH. It has SNMP support, works over Ethernet, and allows you to add other sensors if you want more functionality down the line.

About a decade ago, I used some Onset Hobo sensors for a similar setup. I can't remember the exact models, but take a look at their website for data loggers—there might be something perfect for you!

Hey, don't your switches already support SNMP and have built-in temperature sensors? It could save you some hassle!
