Django vs. Node.js: Which Should I Choose for My First Fullstack Project?

Hey folks! I'm gearing up for a personal project this summer to enhance my programming skills and dive into fullstack development. I'm caught between going with Django (Python) or Node.js (JavaScript) for my backend.

If I pick Node.js, I'd only need to know JavaScript for both the frontend and backend, which seems simpler. I've heard a lot about the MERN stack being in demand, which makes Node.js seem appealing.

On the other hand, with Django, I'd use Python for the backend and stick with JavaScript for the frontend, meaning I'd be juggling two languages. However, I've heard Django is beginner-friendly and promotes good coding practices. Plus, understanding Python could help me in the future if I decide to explore machine learning.

Initially, I was leaning towards Node.js, but I'm now swaying towards Django mostly because I think it would give me a solid foundation in both languages.

I realize I need to just dive in and start coding; once I get a grip on one stack, is it tough to switch to another later? What do you all think? Any advice or insights from your experiences would be really valuable!

Honestly, just flip a coin and dive into coding! 😉 It's all about getting started.

For your first project, you might want to focus just on either the backend or frontend. Trying to tackle both could be overwhelming. Maybe stick with one language for both parts.

Thanks for your input! Just to clarify, I've done projects before, but this will be my first fullstack project involving a backend!
