Is It Normal to Feel Uncertain About a Job Offer in a New Programming Language?

Hey everyone! I graduated as a software developer last summer and finally landed a job offer. The thing is, I told the employer that I'm familiar with C# and MsSQL, but their team primarily uses Firebase and React. I'm feeling a bit conflicted about accepting the offer because I worry that I won't be able to contribute effectively and will be asking a lot of questions. Is it common to feel this way when starting a new job, especially one that involves technologies I'm not experienced with? Thanks for your thoughts!

Don't sweat it! Companies hire people based on potential, not just existing skills. If they believe in your ability to learn and adapt, that's a good sign. Tech evolves quickly, and they're probably hoping you can grow into the role.

Totally normal! Every job I took had at least one language I wasn’t familiar with. Big tech firms often use unique stacks, and they expect you to learn on the go. Expanding your knowledge is key—don’t just restrict yourself to C#/MsSQL, every new language adds to your toolkit!

How did you manage the transition from learning new languages?
