I'm running a lot of D-series virtual machines and have been seeing frequent failures when starting them. In some cases, switching to a different VM SKU seems necessary to get capacity. I haven't found an official service advisory yet, so I'm wondering whether others are seeing allocation problems in Sweden Central or nearby regions.

Sweden Central has been reported as a busy region recently, so this may be related to regional capacity or restricted quota rather than a problem with your configuration.
We had the same issue with D2s VMs failing to start. Temporarily changing them to D4as allowed the machines to start, so trying another SKU or size may be a workable short-term workaround.
We’re seeing similar allocation failures in West Europe as well, starting around 9:20 AM Berlin time. We’re using E8v6 SKUs, so it doesn’t appear limited to the D-series.
There’s been guidance to use Sweden Central or West Europe when UK South capacity is unavailable. That may be shifting demand into those regions, while some compute capacity is also being reserved for AI workloads. New datacenter capacity is reportedly expected later, but that may not help immediately.
Microsoft Support confirmed that this is being treated as a global outage, which explains why multiple regions and VM families are affected.
