I have two Petoneer RFID feeders, but the mobile app only connects to them over Bluetooth. I'd like to check or control the feeders when I'm away from the house. Would a Bluetooth-to-Wi-Fi gateway work for this, or is there another practical workaround?

A simple workaround may be to leave an old phone or tablet at home with the Petoneer app installed and within Bluetooth range of the feeders. You could then remotely access that device from your regular phone using a reputable remote-access app. It won’t be as seamless as native Wi-Fi support, but it could let you operate the feeders from outside the house.
That could work. Do you have any recommendations for secure remote-access software? I’m new to this and want to avoid choosing something with weak security.
