The store asked for a password related to purchases, then showed an option about requiring the password immediately or after 15 minutes. I wasn't sure how to cancel, and the app finished downloading anyway. I later removed it after finding another solution. Since spacedesk is supposed to be free, did entering the password authorize a charge? How can I check whether anything was purchased?

The App Store can ask for the Apple ID password even when you’re downloading a free app. That password prompt is for authorization, not proof that you’re being charged. The 15-minute option controls how long the password can be reused before it’s requested again, which can help prevent accidental purchases. Since spacedesk is free, downloading it normally shouldn’t create a charge.
So entering the password by itself doesn’t mean I accidentally bought anything?
