I've been using openSUSE with KDE Plasma for about six weeks and would like to set up an on-screen keyboard for regular desktop use, not specifically for a touchscreen. I expected Plasma to include one, but I can't find a clear way to enable it. Is there a built-in virtual keyboard, or do I need to install and configure a separate application?

If the built-in Plasma option isn't available, vboard-enhanced is another on-screen keyboard project worth trying. It will require downloading or installing the project and then launching it, so follow its setup instructions carefully rather than expecting it to appear automatically in System Settings.
KDE Plasma has a virtual keyboard component called Plasma Keyboard. Depending on your Plasma and openSUSE version, it may not be installed or exposed in the settings by default, so check the keyboard or accessibility sections of System Settings and install the relevant package if necessary.
Same here—the option doesn't appear in my settings, so it may need to be installed separately or might not be available in this Plasma version.
I checked my settings but there isn't any virtual keyboard option showing up.
