Hey everyone! I'm really struggling with my HP All-in-One 22-dd0xxx, and I need your help. My computer has 4GB of RAM, which is almost full, and a storage capacity of just 119GB, so I'm running out of space and I'm looking for solutions to make it run faster. It's running on Windows 11 Home and it's not performing well – loading Bing takes around 23 seconds, I can't even have more than 4 tabs open, and I can't watch YouTube in anything higher than 240p without it crashing. Task Manager is slow to open too, and I can't afford a new computer right now. I've heard mixed opinions on HP computers, and I'm not sure if getting an SSD or SD card would help. Can anyone give me simple advice without too much tech jargon?

Upgrading your All-in-One can be risky, especially when it comes to accessing the internal components without damaging the screen. You might want to start by getting an SD card for extra storage, but keep in mind that it won’t help much with speed. If you want significant improvements, consider getting a larger SSD and at least 8GB of RAM (16GB is even better). But honestly, given the limitations of All-in-Ones, saving up for a new desktop might be the best long-term solution.
If you’re thinking about an SD card, I’d suggest weighing whether to get a 1TB or 512GB one based on how much stuff you have now and what you might want in the future. A large SD card can be useful for extra storage, but for performance, upgrading your RAM and switching to an SSD would be more beneficial! Just keep in mind that your computer’s internal upgrades might only take you so far before you really need a new setup.
It sounds like your RAM and disk storage are both pretty limited. You could upgrade both components if you’re comfortable with that. Your current RAM is DDR4 3200 MHz, and for storage, an M.2 NVMe SSD would be a good option. Just a heads-up, upgrading an All-in-One can be tricky since they aren't built for easy access, especially if it has a touchscreen. You might want to check for guides specific to your model before attempting any upgrades!
How difficult is it really to upgrade? I’m worried I might break something!
What should I look for in a new desktop then?
