I'm moving back home after a year living on campus and am trying to keep my bedroom cooler so my parents won't complain about the heat from my computer. I'm already underclocking the PC to reduce its power usage, but I'm wondering what else I can do to improve airflow and lower the amount of heat it puts into the room.

If the goal is to reduce the heat added to the room, the main factor is how much electricity the PC uses. Nearly all of that power eventually becomes heat, so underclocking or limiting the CPU and GPU power draw will help. Better case airflow can lower component temperatures, but it won’t reduce the total heat released into the room. Opening a window, improving room ventilation, or exhausting warm air outside will make the biggest difference.
