I created a system restore point during the guide, but I am unsure how to use it or whether it will undo registry changes and disabled services. If the restore point was created before the tweaks, try that first. Open Start and search for “Create a restore point,” choose “System Restore,” select the earlier restore point, and follow the prompts. This can roll back many system, registry, driver, and service changes, but it will not remove personal files. Check the affected programs afterward and restart the PC.
I would avoid trying to reverse every registry entry and service manually unless you know exactly what each change did. Optimization guides often disable services or alter settings that are harmless on one PC but important on another. For a work computer, restoring from the earlier restore point or reinstalling Windows is safer than continuing to tweak it.
A clean install means creating a Windows installation USB, booting the computer from it, deleting or formatting the Windows partition, and installing Windows again. It is more thorough than a reset, but it erases the selected drive, so verify your backups and make sure you have your Windows license and application installers first. I would use this only if restore and reset fail.
Before making more changes, back up your work files. If System Restore does not fix everything, use Windows 11’s Reset this PC feature and choose the option to keep personal files.
